Privacy Policy

Information we process

• Account and profile information: your display name, a HeyMahj player identifier, your Sign in with Apple identifier and email address when Apple provides it, and an optional Game Center player identifier.
• Optional phone discoverability: if you add a phone number, the app converts it to a one-way hash for friend matching. Your raw phone number remains on your device; the hash is stored with your HeyMahj account until you remove it or delete your account.
• Contacts matching: if you grant Contacts access and choose friend discovery, the app sends one-way hashes of accessible contact phone numbers together with your authenticated account request to the HeyMahj service for matching. Contact names and address-book identifiers stay on your device. The service uses the submitted contact hashes to return matches and does not store them as your address book.
• Multiplayer activity: online presence, invitations, room codes, matchmaking state, and game messages needed to connect players and run a multiplayer game.
• Technical and support information: session credentials, IP addresses used as security and rate-limit identifiers, service connection and error logs that may include player or invitation identifiers, and information you include when contacting support.

Game history, replay logs, preferences, local friends, and the raw phone number you enter are stored on your device unless a feature described above sends specific information to the HeyMahj service.

How we use information

We use information only to provide app functionality: authenticate accounts, preserve identity across devices, enable friend discovery and presence, deliver invitations, run online games, prevent abuse, maintain service reliability, provide support, and honor account-deletion requests.

HeyMahj does not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or use personal information to track you across apps or websites.

When information is shared

Information is processed by Apple when you use Sign in with Apple or Game Center. Service providers may process information solely to host and secure HeyMahj's online services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users, the service, or others. We do not share information with data brokers or advertising networks.

Retention and deletion

Account records and profile information are retained while your account is active. Authentication sessions expire after up to 30 days of inactivity. Invitations and lobby tokens expire automatically in minutes, and active game-room state expires within hours. Expired IP-based rate-limit records are swept from service memory every ten minutes. Service logs, temporary backup copies, and other operational records are retained only as reasonably necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting, recovery, and legal obligations, and may persist temporarily until routine deletion or overwrite.

You can delete your account in HeyMahj from Player Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account. Deletion removes your live server account, profile, discoverability data, sessions, and pending invitations, and revokes the associated Sign in with Apple credential when applicable. It also removes your local profile, statistics, and friends list. Backup copies and service logs created before deletion are not purged immediately; consistent with the retention practice described above, they persist only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting, and recovery, and are then deleted or overwritten in the ordinary course of operation.

On-device game and replay logs are not part of the account record and are not removed by the in-app account-deletion action. They remain only on your device and can be removed by deleting the app. You may contact support with a privacy request or deletion question.

Your choices

• Phone-number discoverability is optional and can be removed in Edit Profile.
• Online-presence visibility is off by default and can be changed in the Friends screen.
• Contacts, Local Network, and Game Center access can be changed in iOS Settings.
• You can delete your HeyMahj account directly inside the app.

Security

HeyMahj uses Apple platform security, encrypted network connections, authenticated sessions, and access controls designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as HeyMahj changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
